IberoDocs, the Ibero-American Documentary Film Festival Scotland based in Edinburgh is preparing its 4th edition for 2017. We’re seeking for volunteers to fill the following vacancies (although experience in similar roles is not essential for none of them, it is a plus):

 

Press Secretary [Voluntary/Unpaid Position]

 

We are looking for an energetic Press Secretary to be part of our team. Starting asap, you will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination of PR and communications activity in support of IberoDocs 4th Edition (May 2017).

Ideally, you will bring with you contacts in media and social media from Scotland and the UK, along with some knowledge of Spanish and/or Portuguese.

Commitment required: 4-8 hours per week

Duties and responsibilities:

– Update media and press contacts databases.
– Create awareness and build our relationship with the Scottish and UK media via e-mail and PR (events, press passes expenditure, press releases, interviews, etc)
– Write up and coordination of press releases in all the relevant languages
– Preparation of various press-packs to be sent to the press/media of the relevant countries
– Content creation before, during and after the festival: interviews, voice over segments, written articles for the web.
– Plan and implementation of a strategy with our media partner: Brit Es.
– Clipping: keep an eye on the media to find out who’s speaking about IberoDocs
– Reporting to Marketing and Communications Coordinator.

Required Skills\Responsibilities:

– Personal characteristics: Reliable, punctual, enthusiastic, hard-working, friendly and approachable, flexible attitude, ability to work in a team and work to deadlines, ability to problem solve and make decisions, self motivated and able to work under own initiative.
– Administration skills: Excel, Word, and ability to use Google Drive and Slack.
– Committed to the aims and objectives of the Festival.
– Knowledge of and enthusiasm for Iberoamerican culture and documentary films
– Represent the Festival positively and provide guidance about the festival’s activities in a friendly and efficient manner.
– You should be a self-motivator, with excellent written and verbal communication skills and a strong creativity.

 

Sponsorship Coordinator  [Voluntary/Unpaid Position]

 

We are looking for an energetic fundraiser to be part of our team. Starting asap, we want you to help us secure funding for IberoDocs next edition in May 2017.

Commitment required: 8-12 hours per week

Duties and responsibilities:

– Modify Sponsorship Pack
– Research Potential sponsors, approach Sponsors and Close Deals
– Create a Crowdfunding Campaign
– During events, take care of Sponsors’ needs
– Reporting to Festival director, Admin & Finances Coordinator

Required Skills\Responsibilities:
